We are excited to welcome 5 new Home-Visiting Volunteers to the Home-Start Banbury, Bicester & Chipping Norton team.

It’s been a fun and interesting 8 weeks with our new volunteers. We trialled our new hybrid style preparation course, with some sessions happening online and others in-person. We’ve spent a lot of time getting to know one another, exploring our values and beliefs as well as what it means to be a Home-Start volunteer. The course prepares our volunteers for offering weekly support to local families in their home. All our volunteers are trained before they are carefully matched to their first family.

As well as playful sessions indoors and outside in nature, we cover support available for families and volunteers and we are lucky to have engaging speakers to talk about other sources of help including Mental health, Safeguarding and Domestic abuse. Thank you to all our community partners involved in facilitating sessions: Oxfordshire Mind, Reducing the Risk, Bridge Street Community Garden, local health visitors & Fundango.

Thank you for joining Home-Start Banbury, Bicester & Chipping Norton – we are delighted to have you!
